I am Toni Nikolas Tietzel, born 1994, from TNT Knives in Germany. Knifemaking has been my passion since I made my first knife at the age of 14. In order to constantly develop my skills on the belt grinder, I repeatedly challenged myself. This is how the desire to make blades that are optimised for the application, arose. Compoungrinds give me the greatest possible creative freedom to grind the blades according to my ideas. Over time, the individual shape and look of my knives developed from this.
I am fascinated by traditional craftsmanship as well as modern and computer-aided production methods. In my workshop, I only make handmade individual pieces. Therefore, I use traditional craftsmanship with the motivation to consistently improve when making my unique pieces. When designing folding knives, I can use my knowledge of CAD and CAM manufacturing to create models that are optimised for a production on CNC machines and use the advantages of this manufacturing technology to work even better in practice.
What fascinates me about knife making and computer-aided design is the creative scope, but also the challenge of creating innovative products. My goal and constant motivation is to create highly functional knives with outstanding cutting performance.
