Being born and raised in Southern California, Matt split his summers between the beaches of Orange County and mountains of Yosemite. It was there (in Yosemite) during a fishing trip with his father, he was given his first pocket knife. Many years later, he discovered the custom knife world and began designing and building handmade knives in his garage.
Matt currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters, and although his shop time is now quite limited, he still enjoys putting a pencil to paper and designing knives for WE to produce. When not at home enjoying "dad life” he can be found in his recording studio where he mixes post production audio for television and radio.
